Would it look okay to have two chests instead of a chest and dresser?

I am buying a new set and I am undecided whether to buy two chests or a dresser and a chest. I have the room for either. One would fit perfectly between the closet and bathroom doors, the other would be on a wall that only has the bedroom door on it toward one corner. The dresser has a small square cupboard door in the center with two shelves inside. That throws me off a bit from that but with the chest it is a bit high so putting a jewelry box on it would be not as easy to see. I thought I could buy the two chests and next to the one on the long wall buy one of those jewelry standup mirrors that open up to hold jewelry inside. I'm not sure what to do.

I cant find a picture of the chest.

We did, but both pieces were in the family already.

Why not get one of each? Maybe you explained, but I am not seeing the reason. Could your jewelry box go in the cupboard space -perhaps the shelf is removable?

If it suits your needs, then why not? Typically the dresser with the mirror adds more light to the room and is a place to see more of yourself when you're dressing, but if you don't need those functions then do what works for you. I have both a dresser and a chest of drawers, and I keep my jewelry box on the chest. But I do use the mirrors over the dresser all the time, even though I also have full length mirrors in the dressing area.

I would first make sure i really needed two large pieces of furniture for clothing storage in my bedroom proper. If you have a decent master closet you can fit it with storage solutions for all your clothing, eliminating the need for at least one of those bulky pieces, if not both.

If you do buy two dressers, I would only put a mirror on one. Artwork on the other or even a jewelry box on top of the one with artwork.

Who will see the two chests and critique your decision?

Somewhere in time a bedroom SET was designed with a place for him and a place for her to store clothes in drawers. Because furniture manufacturers sell suits this way does not mean ya have to live with their vision. Get the pieces that will service your needs. I find the newer "dressing room/closets" very curious. They seem to go along with not having "dressers" of any sort. I wonder at why? What are people using their bedrooms for if not for dressing/ sleeping and why is a dresser such an eyesore to have? I do not comprehend reading/lounging in a far off room when I have spent much time and effort to make my living room/family rooms welcoming and comfortable. JMHO. But I digress...GET WHAT YOU WANT!!

I would wait and get something different, but that is just because ALLL of that matching furniture would drive me mad! It is a pretty set!

I have a Ricebed(more vintage, than antique)and have used small vintage dressers as nightstands~they do not match. I was told they were dressers even though no mirrors were attached, and they are definitely too wide to have been nightstands. They're just a tad lower than the bed, but the lamps are the perfect height for reading in bed, important to me.
