The better you make it for them the quicker they'll hit the ceiling and become unmanageable.

The palms grew faster last year( coming from Florida and being outside during the summer). Now, it takes almost a year for one new frond to unfurl! I suppose they have adjusted to the indoor light. They seem crowded in that small nursery pot, so I do plan to transplant up in the slightly larger pot…and then never again…because it is too large to handle. What is the best time to transplant?

If you are in a cold northern climate- with lots of cloudy short days,wait until spring. Once they get more trunk and that's enough for you..simply employ old bonsai techniques. From that point on just root prune every few years and refresh the pots soils. That will keep it healthy forever.

I am up north so I will wait until spring. Great advice.

A fresh new frond! A good excuse to throw a tropical-themed party!

Recently, the older leaves have been growing these odd, long 'streamers'! I suppose it is a characteristic of the plant. Maybe the tree is 'happy' or suffering! Any explanations?

Ooooh! Nice plants! I always liked the look of a nice Christmas palm! If you want to repot, wait until Spring.

Don't worry about the "streamers", mine have them as well (as do some other species of palms). They're like extensions to the lower leaflets on the fronds and are quite normal. If anything, yours are suffering from being run-of-the-mill ordinary Christmas Palms, LOL.
