Plant keys are usually based on the characteristics of the mature plant. Seedlings can often display uniquely different characteristics from more mature examples of the same plant and therefore can be quite difficult to identify from a key.

you can also sterilize your media after use ... i prefer microwave for small amounts ... oven for large amounts ... see link

Yes, I like to sterilize potting-mixes too. I make my own blend. Mostly peat, harvested sand and some biochar and (sorry) "twist of lime". The sand is important as it gives good drainage AND weight to the pot.

I know IDing plants can difficult and posting pictures are often the simplest way to ID plants. (I guess I posted the picture twice.)

it looks ornamental sweet-potato-vine-ish, Ipomoea batatas selection, the one with the chartreuse leaves--'Margarita'?

When I've had that sweet potato before, the potatoes are definitely orange. The leaves don't look similar to me either.
