How can I tell who manufactured these chairs?

I bought a pair of vintage chairs on ebay and am trying to determine who made them and whether they are of good quality. The seller found them at an estate sale. There are no tags or markings that suggest who made them or when, except a tag on the down cushions that reads Franks Cushions, NY. I removed the dust cover at the bottom to check out a broken spring and look for a manufacturer's mark but there are no stamps or anything. Thoughts?
