Lighting cohesiveness--do these lights go together?? (cross-post)

Picking out lighting for a 4B/3b open floor plan home. Overall look is transitional, coastal farmhouse-- bright, white, airy, clean with pops of natural wood. Mostly chrome/satin with touches of ORB or black.

Do these lights have the same feel?? I'm thinking the vanity light for the kids bathroom looks out of place. Or maybe the master/spare bathroom style of light is the odd man out?? Ones with an asterisk are already bought (and won't be returned). Appreciate any help!

Kitchen will look almost identical to this though the floating shelves will be stained and the island will probably be painted something slightly different.

To give you an idea of the dining nook and and hallway lighting placement.

The hallway light is what jumped out at me as "which of these do not belong" picture.

The hallway light and dining nook jumped out at me as not belonging. I would do a chandelier-style light over the dining nook and maybe some sort of semi-flushmount in the hall... I'd have to think on the hall light.

I have to agree. I looked and have to say the hallway and dining room seem out in left field.

Hallway light can't be returned anymore according to OP.

Dining nook seems closest to odd man out to me. But I think it is fine. I think they all look fine together. I prefer a collected look over a bunch of matching fixtures.

I think it will all work together. I might look for a dining light that is a little more interesting but do like yours as well. Keep us posted on how things progress!

    Thanks for the thoughts!

I agree the hallway light feels off. DH isn't a fan either. But I've eyed it for months and think it will look fun and different when hung. Or at least I hope.... I'm too cheap to pay return shipping to PB.

Appreciate the suggestions C F! Those are quite a bit more rustic than I'd prefer. Idk why I'm drawn to that two tier drum shade, but for some reason I love it! RH is having a sale now too, but with shipping it'd still come out to 600$. I can make it fit within my lighting allowance, just hate to pay so much for a light that won't look right in the house, ya know?

I just wanted to say that I have the PB light you've chosen for your porch in my kitchen and also in my dining room. They are beautiful, but they sure collect a lot of dust! I can't imagine how difficult it would be to keep it clean outside. I know this isn't what you've asked, but I thought you would want to know.

I agree with C F, the hallway and dining nook don't have the same feel as the others.

Not like the double drum shade, but how about these?

Thanks Corie. Great to know! I considered swapping the Moravian star and the PB bell. I worry their sizes won't fit the different spaces appropriately.

The bell is 13.5" diameter, 17" high. Think that's too big for a 4' hallway with 9' ceilings? The star is 13" diameter and would hang over the front door on a 25'w x 10'h x 8'd covered porch.

I should do the balloon trick to test it out.....

I like all your choices, as well, except the dining light. I think the Moravian star will look great. I may be biased, though, since I have one at our lake house, and it's my favorite thing. I do wonder about the ceiling fan in the bathroom? I don't think I've ever seen one used there before.

Nosoccermom, I've never heard of dot and bo, but recently I've seen it pop up twice on houzz boards. I gotta check them out! I'm drawn to the second light, but I think it would get lost in the space.

Y'all are right though. The dining nook could use something more interesting.

Deeinohio, fan in the bathroom sounds totally bizarre, doesn't it?? We'll have regular vent fans also. The master closet is off the bathroom--we'll probably get dressed most often in the combined space. After a hot shower, it gets stuffy!

Honestly, a friend has one and says they love it. I figured, why not?! :P

Nosoccermom, what's the story with Dot and Bo? Why so inexpensive?? Is it like onekingslane or jossandmain where the inventory changes? Anyone ever ordered from here? Assuming the quality isn't subpar? (Anyone up for a game of 20 q's)

I've only ordered some of their vases, which were just fine. However, some of their stuff is identical to other sites (but for less), and, yes, their inventory changes, so I guess it's like onekingslane or jossandmaine.

If you are trying for design cohesive lights throughout your home, those you posted do not achieve that, IMO. Those that share an affinity of style or "feel": fan for back porch, lights for kids bathroom, hallway, kitchen perimeter, and front porch. The outliers are the other fans and the dining nook. That last one in particular is apropos of nothing else in your group.
