I prefer sliding doors because I'm always tight on space for swings. Some styles have a towel bar as part of the door handle -- I like it for hanging the bath mat, or if you're tight for towel hanging space. Otherwise, not a biggie...

Just got a frameless enclousure, no problem with dripping water on floor, ours swing both ways, probably depends if you have enough room.

Yes, water left on the door after a shower drips on the floor with the swing out door. We had no choice because of small bath size. We keep a small rubber bottom throw rug as a bath mat so the water drips onto it. A squeegee helps if you can convince everyone to use it.

We have a swinging frameless door for our steam shower. I prefer minimal drips on the floor to cleaning the track for a slider.

@michigammemom - yes that's the tradeoff, althoug the sliders these days don't have a track like the awful one I have now, they just have one metal edge that kind of acts like a guide I guess and helps stabilize the unit. There is a track on top of course.
