Need throw pillows for my sofa!

I bought this sofa from Room and Board a year ago and have been looking for complementary throw pillows ever since! I was thinking about picking up one of the colors in the art (maybe teal?) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Here's a wider shot. We are also looking for a small ottoman (or 2) to replace a very worn and loved leather cube

that we bought from Ballard years ago. Thanks!

yeah, you need some accent color(s) for this room, so taking some from the art is a good way to go. maybe something with a pattern for variety.

You might want to look for other ways to bring in this color, like in vases, lamps, or other things you put out in the room...

Here's a more accurate picture of the sofa color.

I liked the striped pillow - where is that from?

Lol... Accurate indeed... It went from brown to not brown.... Well, I stand by my first suggestion... Good thing I went with a quiet pal latte or it would have been a colossal waste of time

You can add yellow and blue pillows, preferably with less textures. It will make your room shiny ,bright and warm.

As for the ottoman try to put something in lighter colors, beige or light brown.

I'm a artist of 40yrs and home stager. First of all that's the wrong painting for that sofa.

Sectionals are family friendly furniture. The type of sectional you have looks like a family movie night or sleep over. So my best suggestion is a cityscape or sunset print from Ikea, or order from Art.com. Since you have a neutral chocolate brown sectional, you need pillows and a area rug that would make the room pop. Once you've chosen your wall art. Pull the strongest colors from the painting and choose your pillows and area rug. Don't just get a simple neutral area rug. Choose one that has some personality. I hope this helps.

If you are an artist why ever would you promote prints?

I think the art is cool...though in the living room it could benefit from stronger framing and/or "friends"

Any suggestions for some art that would complement the geometric print? I agree that it needs some "friends!"

I LOVE the teal pillow with the tree branch design from amazon. And they have many similar pillows that would work with it. Thanks havingfun!

I would go with color block pillows and I would pull multiple colours from you art. If you search color block pillows in Etsy, you can find some great affordable options.

I'm an artist, but I promote prints, most clients are on a budget and the price of original art would definitely put a dent in that budget. However I use my original art and other artists work in my home staging process. This is the unique thing about my service. I get a chance to expose and sell my art and other artists works in the home décor. Sometimes I use prints if I can't find a match for a particular décor.

Anyone like this one? Would you do three all the same color? Or mix and match?

Just say you went wild with more art and pillows, possibly less needed for color in table? Do you consider your room small, as to adding tables?

Your pillow has sheen and doesn't seem informal like your art - matters to me if you're keeping the art there, and what you're adding....

seems the same size of pattern as your rug so it looks busy/fussy, sorry.

Yes the art is staying so we want pillows that are not too formal feeling.

Love all the pillow suggestions - maybe the mali frost pillow would look good?

What about this? I tend to agree with everdebz that pillows with sheen might look too formal. Our style is probably "transitional" - a lot of room and board, west elm etc.

like that one, also replaced all shiny ones.

Ok so art stays. What was your reaction to nice solids by Tems?

Many pillows are too standard 'decorator-look' for your art.

Once we eliminate sheen, I think many patterns must 'go' too. If you want to showcase your art that is.

I liked the red pillows a lot, but the room transitions into the kitchen which is painted benjamin moore annapolis green (kind of a bluish green). Trying to maintain a flow and not introduce a completely new color.

I think with the color of the sofa you can go with just about any color. I would definitely add brighter colors. A pretty throw, some tall candles behind the sofa, pillows. You can transform your sofa into a much more inviting area with a little thought and experimenting. Enjoy!

Yes, I was thinking, teals, yellows? little orange if you like?

Having: I love that bird pillow, where is it from? I agree that a print with some teal in it would look nice with the brown sofa.

the peacock is from pier 1. the last pillow with multiple birds is from amazon. and they always cost under $25. Amazon is often $5 for some reason. Want me to pull others so we don't get clogged? we can mix others, it just seemed right.

tribe, just so you know, if you sew, every pillow we have shown you just about is available as just fabric. pennies on the dollar.
