I'm not familiar with them, but if it seems like the perfect solution, go for it.

If all you want is a fridge why not go with the Fridgadaire fridge only not really sure how a freezer converting to a fridge makes sense . Where do you put the frozen stuff then. I have the fridgedaire freezer/ fridge combo with built in kit have had it for 8 yrs with not one problem

Money is an object, as is space. The convertible refrigerator to freezer, in white, is bare bones, with a mechanical thermostat, and with a few inches of insulation. Its job, which it does well, according to the reviews, is to keep food cold, and with the fewest bells and whistles possible. It is the least likely to break, I figure. They make a matching mere freezer, I could put beside it in some future house. In the mean time, I could put it in the laundry room, which is right next to my kitchen, and access the frozen stuff. I don't need as frequent access to frozen food or ice as I do to the stuff in the refrigerator.

On the aesthetic side, Frigidaire makes a stainless steel convertible fridge to freezer, as well as a matching just freezer, but it has digital controls and an electronic thermostat, as opposed to mechanical in the white one. Buying both, in either color, gives superior performance, and far greater capacity at the same price or less than anything that approaches in capacity in "normal" fridge/freezer combinations. If one is too lazy or busy to make one's own ice, or filter one's own water, one can buy ice and bottled water to keep in the commodious freezer and refrigerator, respectively.

The white model has the ability to switch the side that the door and hinge are on, so I could put them side by side, with the same look of the handles in a pair, as the one above. Furthermore, if one breaks, I haven't lost both the freezer AND the refrigerator. It's like stockings vs. pantyhose. There is an electronic version of the white one, only in a freezer only version, with a digital display. If I need it to be apparent which one is the refrigerator, and which one is the freezer, that would differentiate them. There are also smaller freezer styles available, in the same style.

If I don't care if the handles are on opposite sides, I can use two stainless models, set one to be fridge, and the other for freezer, and get that cool industrial look.
Lastly, the 17 cu. foot models are a mere 65" tall, which leaves plenty of room for cabinets above, and is great for short people and children.
