The ceiling at the Living Room (to the left) is just under 11 feet high. It is a foot higher than the ceiling at the right (the Dining Room) because the original design intent was that the Living Room ceiling would be wood or something besides white drywall and I wanted an edge for that material to die into.

The 10 foot ceiling at the right continues into the Family Room beyond. There is a 3 foot descent into that space, so the ceilings there are 13 feet high. It is a relatively large room so it feels right.
