Incidentally, you can always try the nearest BBS/ Walmart/Home Depot/Lowe's, they will always have some succulents in stock..

Do you mean Russell's in Wayland? If so, it's been recommended to me in the past, but I've never made it out there. I really should though since it's basically between my work and my home.

Yes, that place is AMAZING!!! Lots and lots of choices and clean plants...There is also Bonsai West in Littleton that you would drool over...)

Went by Mahoney's in Brighton today just to look. Even though I've seen them in photos, the sheer variety and complexity of succulents is amazing to see in person. I feel like I'm spoiled for choice. I look forward to going to Russels as well.

Browsing & learning can also be done at some of the Big Box Stores too. Some get decent assortments of plants including succulents some of which are even labeled. So it could be a handy way to discover what types of plant looks you like & then find out what they are & if you can give them the conditions they'll need. Enjoy.

As you mentioned Russells ( Wayland, Ma.) be sure to call ahead most/all of them will be closed, or may be operating with very (very) limited hours during the winter months.
