I agree with the part of you saying no. (: Both are handy man jobs when the time come's to replace.

wouldn't change garbage disposal but the bath faucets might look "old" and affect look of your remodel. Despite my best care, I didn't replace a roman tub faucet during a remodel, and regretted it. Tub/faucet weren't used that much and was thoroughly and freq. cleaned but it still looked old after remodel. If budget allowed, I would replace.

I thought there were outlet thingies wher you can have 4 switches, which would mean expanding existing hole rather than adding another. Neater also

Both are trivial DIY jobs. I wouldn't replace still working fixtures unless you really don't like the look. You can put in the old faucet and if you hate it swap it out later. No reason to replace the disposal until it breaks. (can you tell I'm cheap?)

You can add more switches in the same space with these as long as you don't overfill the box capacity.

Ask the plumber about the disposal. IME, when they put in a new sink, they require installing a new disposal too instead of using the old one. Supposedly it makes installation easier.

But you're not paying to make installers life easier, you are paying for a remodel that pleases YOU 100% within your budget.

Thanks all. I could expand the number of switches but it would depend on where the box is mounted to the stud to avoid interfering with the end of the backsplash. The air switch is an easy solution though.

Our contractor didn't say anything when I originally said that I would reuse the disposal.

Unfortunately, it all entails labor charges. Around here, that is $200/hr for a plumber.

Snookums makes a good point, there are some instances where a new sink is deeper and requires a new disposal with a higher discharge location so it can still connect to the existing plumbing correctly. Doesn't always happen, but possible.
