What new trend are you already sick of? Me: thin horizontal glass tile backsplashes...
Comments (14)Ha! bblee, I love anything shiny! I'd rather polish something shiny than look at dull finishes. But I am tired of white subway tile back splashes and grey walls! And granite! Can't wait to get rid of mine, I'm just to cheap to change out perfectly good countertops, lol!...See Morebacksplash in kitchen (vertical tile)
Comments (14)It's your kitchen. Vertical tile might look nice, but it's pretty fashion-forward and I haven't seen much of it yet, so there's no reason you should feel pressured into something that doesn't make you feel comfortable. There's no prize to be won; you just want to feel at home in your spaces, so go with a simpler arrangement. It's a nice backsplash and doesn't need any sort of extra pizzaz....See MoreKitchen back-splash suggestions?
Comments (7)Great ideas. Have you thought about a glass tile in a neutral color- white or cream? This will to add some subtle “bling“ and brightness to your kitchen- complimenting your counters & island, while adding a nice contrast to your wood tones. I always think of a backsplash as a pretty piece of jewelry for the kitchen. Best of luck- Let us see what you choose!...See MoreInstalling 12 x 24 tiles vertically in kitchen backsplash? Yes or No?
Comments (7)12x24" tiles installed vertically as a backsplash won't work because there isn't enough room between the counter and bottom of cabinet for even one full tile. I can see it working over the range since you'll get the vertical height by tiling to the ceiling but under the cabinets it would essentially be a 12x18" tile...is that the look you're after? Are there smaller tiles available to use for the cabinet backsplash areas, like maybe 4x12 or something that perhaps could be laid vertically?...See Moredsharp2
