This depends on location: the plus to LVT is price, durability and that it is really easy to maintain. But in certain climates it can be extremely cold under foot which can make getting ready in the morning a difficult task.

I'm on the East coast, but I do mostly wear slippers or socks when I'm walking around anyways.

Even though I am for natural materials, in this case I would go with LVT because it is easier to keep clean. Wall to wall carpeting always holds dust, dirt etc. LVT can be mopped and cleaned easily. Having said that, if God forbid there is fire in the house, run outside and don't take in one breath of LVT smoke. There are more ecological / sustainable choices comparable to LVT that are not as toxic.

She would be putting rugs down if she does the vinyl so cold feet aren't really the issue. I have tile throughout my house with some plush rugs by the bed that are easy to clean and I will never go back to carpet. This stays so much cleaner.

Are you still happy with your decision @ Jessica? How do the vinlyl tiles look?

Agreed with Gil4191, and update would be great! I fully support the decision of going vinyl throughout.
