Wow, I considered getting that sectional (very comfy, with deep seating). Call Macy's - they told me an advantage of buying from them is their "customer service," that they "stand behind products."

Is the fabric treated to resist stains? Also could be the glue they used to assemble the frame.

Theirs not much in a sofa thats going to cause an odor. What does the odor resemble? Have you removed the cushions off the sofa and out of the room? What type of material is it covered in?

The odor has gotten a little better after airing it out. I asked the company that makes the sofa if they treat the fabric with anything and they said no. It's a microfiber type of material. I did take the cushions off the sofa and the back pillows as well when airing it out. It smells like those memory foam pillows you buy at the store and can't use them because when you take it out of the packaging, it smells like that strange memory foam chemical odor. It's been about a month now so I'm hoping in a couple more month it will be pretty much gone. I HOPE!
