Door surface accepting paint/stain mixture

I love this color as does everyone else here. I have read how you mixed it. However, my question is regarding whether you believe the mixture you made would be able to be applied to a smooth fiberglass door instead of a wood door. Ordering the door this weekend but definitely want to apply your technique. Thank you!
