I'd do a 16x24 random pattern in a light gray, or white witg grey horizontal veins/lines.. Fewer grout lines and the larger tiles will make the small space not seem so busy.

We started out wanting gray tiles, but we decided it was going to make our small bathroom too dark. We have decided on a porcelain marble look with gray veining and a gray floor.

Knowing your style, and seeing the two choices you've already made, would help us come up some ideas :)

I'm remodeling one of my rentals. I just used an 18" grey tile from Home Depot(.78cents a sq ft) with a pebble medallion in the entryway...then copied the tiling into the bathroom. It's a very light grey with BM "a touch of grey" paint on the walls.

thanks for the responses. We are going with the larger light grey tiles with a pebble shower floor. What about fixtures? Chrome? brushed nickel? stainless steel? Help!

I think chrome in a bath is timeless, so I would chose that :)

I think chrome is harder to keep clean looking. If it doesn't have that polished see-your-reflection finish...it's dirty. I also purchased a house that "had" chrome in the master bath and the maid used scrubbing pads to shine it up and it was a nasty dull finish. I replaced ALL fixtures!
