Also, we will be getting new granite, cabinets, appliances in this kitchen. I also have received different opinions on the location of the fridge too. Several suggested moving it to the side where the wall ovens are located. Haven't decided yet on who I'm going with for design but since I'm getting lots of different opinions,I'm confused on which way to go and who has the best ideas. Thoughts anyone?

I think this kitchen is very nice. What is your goal for the renovation?

The existing pantry (reach in) is quite large. I think walk in pantries are great but they do waste space. The only con I can see with a reach in is that you need to have a good memory as to where things are stored. As for the fridge -- I like it where it is because the kitchen seems more balanced. You might want to consider under the cabinet garbage bins. As it is, this kitchen is lovely.

The wall pantry might be sufficient depending on your situation.

My question is: have you been properly interviewed by your kitchen designer(s)? We all have great ideas but which fits you best is the key. To answer your question: A walk-in pantry is great but a properly designed reach-in one is even better since you have the wall unit off to the side. Have you considered the ones that actually roll out towards you? Please see attached photo. And I would use whatever cabinet space you were planning on using for the pantry for a built-in microwave to free up its existing location for a vent. Add drawers for all of your pots and pans and don't forget a dedicated base cabinet if you have a kitchen aid stand mixer!

Love this kitchen. Wasted space with a walk-in pantry. I like the frig where it is. Gives you the needed triangle design that is most functional for a kitchen. I love my pull-out trash can in a lower cabinet. Couldn't live without it.
