In lieu of letting my husband know I am starting yet another tile search..... I figured I'd make a request here first. Due to various reasons mostly surrounding our new baby, we've had to drastically slash our budget in the middle of our bathroom (which we have to finish before we can start our kitchen) remodel.

My perfect color tile is Fireclay Oyster Shell. It's subtle and the undertones are perfect. Pre-baby, this was reasonable pricewise, now it's not. My closest runner up is Daltile Matte Desert Gray, but it's really too dark and the undertones aren't quite right. This is priced at $2/sq foot which is dirt cheap, I'd like to stay at close to that as possible, but with some finagling I could probably go up to $5, if I really really had to-but keep in mind I still have an extensive kitchen remodel to do this summer--most of our materials are paid for (excepting backsplash) but still have several thousand out of pocket for incidentals (dumpster, stuff we miscalculated etc.) anyway...

Obviously in an ideal world I would save and wait for the perfect one--but due to my clearance shopping habits (allowing us to afford to remodel w/quality fixtures), half my house is dedicated to storage, and I need to get it ready for a baby that will be toddling around before long, so waiting is not an option.

I couldn't find any whites with the correct undertones in stock anywhere, nor in any of the expensive samples I ordered. Basically something with cool undertones, gray or green, either a white or light gray. Anyone?? Suggestions? I know the tile obsession on kitchens is real, so I feel that you folks might have some insight. I feel like I've been scouring stores and the interweb for months (which I have). I know it's first world problems that I can't put in the perfect choice but it just sucks after the amount of work we have done to be not completely happy with the final product.
