Decorating A.D.D.-- can we discuss bedroom, too?

I have several days off & will be shopping & trying to get a plan.

1. No headboard. Removed tobacco basket from EC on other thread. Would this work? Our bed is adjustable so we move the head of bed to read/watch tv.

2. Drapes/ window treatments. Cream linen panels & woven blinds hung up to make Windows look larger?

3. Rug & fabrics.

Door to bathroom will be rustic Barnwood sliding barn door( it is an old barn!!)

I'm trying to use what I have & not spend a lot of $$.

Wingchair can be reupholstered or go.

Crazy to use my old Bosporus fabric?

Have a look at overstock.com or amazon for some affordable headboards. What you have really doesn't work. If a headboard is not an option, you might try hanging the painting over the bed. I don't think your room is large enough for the chaise lounge. Yes to the window treatments. If you like the Bosporus fabric, on the bed, then definitely not crazy. However, what is that at the foot of the bed with the fabric draped over it? I would remove it, in addition to the chaise lounge, because this room will look better with less in it. I would move the chair to where the chaise lounge is now, and remove everything else from that corner except the lamp which I would move next to the chair. It's quite a nice room, with a distinct ambiance of its own. It might be a good idea to have sheers which you can keep closed during the day and have privacy and still a view, and at night pull down the shades. It would be a shame to hide the frames completely.

Agree to disagree. The basket with window treatments could well fill that wall nicely. The barn door and basket--rustic feel go well together. The chaise, IMHO is not the right style..too fancy for your rustic vibe. I am not sure if new upholstery can fix that? Shop slowly. Continue to look around at what you have. You might find you have the proper pieces--we tend to have/collect what goes together just because it is all things we like... LOVE the tub peaking through the bathroom door!!!

Ive had to take a break from all this decorating stuff!

I think I'm trying to use what I had in old traditional house & it just doesn't work!

I agree about the chaise. DH said he'd build me a headboard out of old wood. Basket doesn't work either, I don't think.

Ingrid, it's a bench for my shih tau to get up on the bed by himself. I'd like to keep it.

Wondering about the drapes from Country Curtains to tie colors together?
