Anyone seen a "Jay Leno" comedy show in person??

I've been a Leno fan for a loooong time. Found out he's coming to the Shooting-Star Casino & Events Center in Mahnomen, MN on Fri nite April 8th!! Just got 2 tix...6th row. Is it a good show typically?!?!!?

In early Dec., we saw Crystal Gayle there.

Thanks!

I saw him perform at a Human Resources conference I attended in Las Vegas years ago. He was very funny! I do recall hearing at the time that he did his milder material that night, possibly tailored for the audience, so he may be a tad racy or use a lot more profanity or something in his regular acts.

ETA after reading some of the posts after mine: I don't know for a fact that Jay Leno uses a lot of profanity, or is racy or tacky! Someone I met at the conference I attended said his material is usually less mild....more geared toward adult audiences, whatever that may mean. Regardless, I thought he was very good and funny, and the audience laughed the entire performance.

Sadly so many comedians are rather "racy" or TACKY, CRUDE, GROSS...not my idea of FUN.

So true. I can handle one or two curse words, but come on! It's almost as if they have to fill up the time somehow.

Depends on the context Crudeness for crudeness sake never flies. But in the right context, it can actually be necessary for something to work. An example: I really dislike vulgarity and violence, but one of my favorite movies is "Fargo", and I think my all-time favorite TV series is "The Sopranos". But the violence and crudeness in each of those were themselves important characters and necessary to make them work. W/o those elements, that move and that series would have been flat.

He did a benefit performance for the local hospital here last year and it was very good. He also did a photo shoots on his own time, which I think the locals really appreciated, including a bunch of photos with kids at the hospital. If you're a fan, I'm sure you will love it. My DH is also a fan and he really enjoyed it.

My brother and SIL have seen him a few times and they say he is pretty clean in his routine. They were impressed by that.

Hey, Faron, did you see the rest of the AC/DC tour is canceled? Glad you got to see the show when you did.

I saw Leno in Vegas several years ago and enjoyed his show very much. He was funny without vulgarity or lewdness.

    Hey thanks Guys!!!

I never thought of the profanity angle! Jay doesn't seem like the type to use it...to me anyway?! I'm really looking forward to it! I hope he brings lots of video of his "garage"...;-)

Yeah...I'm DAMN lucky I got to see AC/DC back on Feb. 11th!!!! It was their 3rd time here in little-ol'-Fargo @ the Fargodome. I"ll have to take care of my AC/DC Fargo t-shirt!! $45 for a 2X! Right now though, I'm wearing my Black-Sabbath "The End 2016" tee. Did a quick blast to Mpls. Target Center on Jan. 25th to see Ozzy, Tony, & Geezer!!!

Van-Halen was a similar thing in 2012! Not long after their Xcel-Center concert in St. Paul, didn't they start arguing again, & cancel some of that tour?! DW & I went to that one.

Too bad the good-stuff can't last longer!!!! Siiiigggghhhhh.....

Our friend was recently interviewed by Jay Leno (for his show, Jay Leno's Garage, to air next season), said he was friendly and actually interested.

I've never seen Leno live, but would love to!

Re: AC/DC -- I just read that Angus released a statement saying it was due to Brian Johnson's hearing loss issues .... Brian is saying that's not true, that Angus wants another singer. I hope this isn't true. Wow! Wouldn't be the same without Brian.

My son and his dad are very glad they saw AC/DC when they were in Dallas before they canceled. Son had never seen them and was impressed!

Interesting, MizGG. Brian Johnson has been hanging in there by a thread over the past couple years but somehow he barks it out and gets it done. They survived after Bon Scott with Brian, but if he's out, they're done at this point. I'm sure they were planning on making good coin and sailing off into retirement. But they can't tour with only two original members. Who wants to see that and pay $$$.
