My New Meyer Lemon Tree

I just bought a Meyer Lemon tree, it is about 6ft tall and it had a lot of blooms and leafs. Now, the leafs are disappearing and the tips of the branches are gone. It seems like something is eating them, I keep looking for a caterpillar or something similar and haven't found anything. It looks like it has tiny green lemons on the flowers, so I don't know what I can spray it with. I don't want to lose my beautiful tree. I had kept it in the garage and would bring it out during the day and put it inside the garage when it got about in the 40's. My husband just transplanted it into a larger pot. I've read some of the comments, but my leafs aren't turning yellow, they are just gone. What should I do? Thank you in advance for any help. I live in San Antonio, Tx. and have mild winters.

Do you have deer? For deer and goats it seems one of their favorite foods is Meyer lemon leaves and branches; they don't seem to bother most other citrus. It is a conundrum for me, as I really like goats; but Meyer lemons are a business for me.

I'm still trying to find out what is wrong with my Meyer Lemon Tree. It is getting worse, it seems like Charlie Browns tree. The leafs are turning yellow and I guess falling, I can't see them on the ground. Could it be birds that are taking them maybe for nests or something. I don't know what else could be clipping the tips of the branches and stripping the leaves. Please help... It has small lemons on it and are growing more flowers. We have been getting alot of rain recently. Should I put some citrus fertilizer? Would Appreciate some help with this problem, don't want to lose my tree. Thank You in advance...

One thing that many always do before they come here is and learn not do do that is add fertilizer when I tree is in crises...NEVER do that. It hastens its demise by killing off even more of your fine roots as they are already dying off...

That's a not a bug..It seems to be a root issue..What kind of mix is it in? When you said a re pot, how did he do it? Did he bare root it? Did he just stick it in a different mix with the old one around the roots? Was in done at peak time? Can you take a picture of the pot and a close up of the mix?

Has it ever dried out before? Is it a fine mix? What brand name? Have you ever had it a wilt? Have you fed it in the past? Do you watch the pH of are you ever concerned about it at all? What fertilizer have you used? How's the mix? Is it wet? At the bottom too or dry just on top when you water? How long between waterings and how often?

I get the feeling you have a serious root issue going on. Answer as quick as you can so we can save it as quick as we can) Shriveled fruit means it is not taking up moisture correctly...

He took off the smaller pot it was in and set into a bed of potting soil in the big pot. I had some Expert Plant Food the one that is blue and you mix with water. After he put it in the larger pot, I put about a quart of the Expert Plant Food mixture. I thought that it would give it a boost to continue to grow. It has not dried out, I would water about every 2 days. But recently, it has been heavy raining a lot like once or twice a week. I just put the Expert Plant Food just that one time about March. I haven't checked to see if the bottom is too wet. If it is, do I have my husband drill more holes for drainage? I don't know how to check for PH, . My husband put a layer of red mulch, It is like bark.. Do I take it off? I hope I have given you some information and also sending pictures to see if that helps. We have had this tree about 2 months. The little lemons are not shriveled, they are nice and firm and it's flowering again. Thank you for your help and advice. I never had any fruit trees nor lemon trees, so I have been leaning on the help and advice in the websites. I hope that all these pictures help. Thank you again for your time and advice...Vickie

Hi mikerno_1micha, was just asking if you had time to consider the problems with my Meyer Lemon tree. I tried to get you as much of the information you requested. How do I check to see if it has too much water? Thank you for any information you can give me. Vickie
