Carrollton Plant Swap & Exchange *A New Location* INFORMATION BELOW

Swap / Exchange -majority know the rules & that no money is exchanged for any plants or plant related items. Our meet up group - Denton County Gardening has expanded to almost 300 people & their is no way that that many will participate. www.meetup.com At this point 20+ have signed up so far with another couple of weeks to go. This will be a bigger swap as of course the church has gardeners in their congregation. So that will add to more people and more plants and other related garden items.

Location: Horizon Unitarian Church Time: 2 - 4:30pm Address: 1641 Hebron Parkway

My contact number 469-223-0982 ( I don't mind adding my number)

( I thought their was a swap list going around as someone asked and I can't find the other email that I had sent out or I just don't know where to look) If I could get help on that it would greatly be appreciated.

IN the past our plant swap and exchange was held several times at McInnish Park in Carrollton next to the Trinity River overflow. The overflow washed the asphalt ground to mud & just not a good place anymore.

I live in Carrollton and their is a church near me that has a wonderful garden area with an arbor that has the Wisteria covering it and this caught my eye. So I called and talked to the Church secretary. She was delighted that I wanted to hold our Garden Swap / Exchange in their parking lot of the church.

Look forward to meeting more fellow gardeners.

Gretchen

Their will be a great group for the new location at the church. About 20-25 people have shown an interest and plenty of "newbies" One more week to go.

More than 25 plant swappers will be at the new location. I have misc garden items that need a new home. Two metal bird baths, small square pots & bigger round ones, and other misc for the garden. Butterfly weed seedlings, aloe vera (4) available. Coneflower seeds purple / pink butterfly weed seeds (no idea on color) and other stuff.

Please come to the swap. I am interested in some brugsmansia as I have a area in my yard that is almost a clean slate for some new plants. Their is a big group this year as I posted the info about the swap on Facebook and have had some of my friends contact me that are not on meet up and do not know of Garden Web.

I would be interested in brug cuttings also. My list if you see something you want http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/54066731/thumbs/plants-for-swaps

abarbie4me2, you have an awesome list. I hope you want more than one brugmansia because I see many things on your list that I would like.

These are the ones I'm most interested in,

    native white
    mistflower Y
    native rough leaf dogwood Y
    native tx mt laurel Y
    native Frost weed -Y

I can bring you cuttings of Double Pink and Tri-color confederate rose. A couple has nubbies, but not really roots yet.

I have Pregnant Onion plants that I can bring. Per Almost Eden (Albuca bracteata is now considered the most correct botanical name for the Pregnant Onion).

I said I wasn't going to dig but I would be willing to dig some pink rain lilies and Little White Soldiers (Drimiopsis maculata), if requested.

    Ruthz,

brugs and confed rose cuttings would be awesome!

I put your name next to the natives you want and will dig after work.

Teresa was asking about rose cuttings that she got a couple years back. I saw Teresa for the first time Tuesday evening, after two years.

    Question for abarbie4me2/JoAn.

Today I saw White Mistflower, Eupatorium havanense at a local nursery.

Do you know if this is the same as the one I got from you at the swap? If it's different I want to pick one up while they have them.

    RUth,

I am not sure if this is the same. I tried reading description and pics but cannot tell much without my computer. All I can remember is the common name. Sorry

Thank you for checking. If they still have some when I go back, I think I'll get one. I don't mind having one in front and back. I'm hoping it's one more thing the butterflies will love.

Oh, gosh, I wish I had known about the swap. I definitely would have attended.

Hi Gretchen, is the plant swap scheduled for today? Also, I don't have any plants to swap... Do people have anything for sale or to give away? Any info appreciated. Thanks.

Plant swap is today. 2:30 - 4:30. Nothing to swap, u can bring other things.Popsicle sticks, plastic knives make good markers, Popsicle sticks, gloves, $1 store has a lot to offer. Starbucks Coffee grounds (Starbucks gladly gives it free, just ask.

One gal that will be at the swap does like the coffee grounds Most of the people expect a trade of something. You just need to ask.

(We don't exchange money for anything.)

I do know that a couple people bring more than enough to give away. My cell phone 469-223-0982

Thank you Gretchen. I'll see if I can make it. Had I known I would have grown more morning glories. I made some from seed and intended to share but they started vining and got tangled so I had to plant them in the ground and keep them all for me. Not complaining. :)

Great idea about the dollar store. Have any of you been to Daiso?

Nope have not been to Daiso. I know there is a store near Trinity Mills.

There were only 4 of us. Steve, John & JoAn & I. We stayed an hour then packed it up. No one else showed & it was miserable out there. John & Jo An had an easy up shade canopy.

Sorry I missed it Gretchen. Had too much going on. Glad you didn't stay out too long. I couldn't garden Sunday, you're right about the weather.
