I like the fabric too, but I wouldn't do it just because of that "matchy-matchy" thing you mention! I would look for complementary fabric instead - plaids or stripes or smaller scale geometrics or florals. With all of those luscious colors, you're limiting yourself too much by using the same fabric on the pillows, when you can easily find other fabrics that work well with it and will add another dimension of interest to your room.

hmmm ok. I will think about what other designs I can use, will look for smaller scale designs.

I am still in the initial stages of deciding what to do for the room. This is a pic of the room with the curtains (they will be long 108"). Thinking of adding a large natural color sisal rug, as seen in the pic.

I am still in search of a smaller rug for the center seating area to layer on top of the sisal one.

You could. Sometimes matchy can be soothing without being overdone. Are your end tables and lamps matchy? If so I would go with coordinating fabrics to break it up more. I still think it might be nice to add that same fabric in a small dose to the couch or as piping for other pillows. Do you have a small foot stool anywhere? That could look nice recovered in the same fabric.

I think a turquoise patterned pillow would look great on the orange sofa and an orange one on the cream sofa. Florals on the pillows might be overkill unless you like the cozy English look; otherwise I think, as mentioned, plaids, stripes or smaller scale geometrics.

I love that fabric! But, yes, I think pillows of the same might be too much. I think amck2's idea of using it for piping is great, though. Maybe on blue pillows?

In your particular case it might be a little much. I have panels on either end of my DR windows. It's a soft green buffalo check. I ordered a yard of the material and made 2 pillows for the sofa in the adjacent LR. I also have other pillows there as well. It blends nicely. I do LOVE the way the panels look in your room. Great choice

Love the fabric. I think you could also just do the pillows in a solid color drawn from the print. This could work well especially if you can find fabrics with texture or sheen, velvet, satin or shantung silk for example. You could still use contrast or complementary piping or trim on the solid pillows.

I love that fabric too! A nice customized look that might work is to have the fabric quilted which often changes the fabric enough that it doesn't look "matchy". You'd probably want the quilting fairly tight, 1" or 1.5"

One pillow of your fabric and a couple of solids is acceptable.

I wouldn't do the pillows out of the same fabric as the curtains. As TR said, there are so many colors in the fabric and tons of fabric out there.

@Sheeisback…For the end tables I am thinking of a set of
nesting tables, maybe glass, haven’t selected them yet. I am thinking of a
simple floor lamp. Don’t think they will match the curtains, maybe a neutral
color for the shade. Thanks for the footstool idea.

@ingrid…funny you should mention the cozy English look, I am
actually from England and my first thought was to make the room with pastels
and cottage like. But then my husband liked these bright orange sofas and things changed. Also we have an open floor plan and I think its challenging to make a room cozy without walls enclosing it. Maybe, once I fill the space, it wont feel like that.

Was it yesterday someone posted dog beds that matched curtains and everyone raved? Me that seems too contrived..why do I think dog beds/pillows fabric quality would be different than curtains?

I'd say it depends on what else is going on in the room, but I think it's fine. Just add some other pillows..

cooks - I'll chime in with NSM above. Yes just do it. It is two tiny 8 x 16 pillows? I might be more in favor of two pillows for each sofa. Are you planning on more other fabric pillows in addition or just the two, one on each sofa. The examples that she posted above should be enough to convince you. I especially like the last two examples and might have a couple larger pillows made to match too.

The third pic she posted shows a fabric that reminds me more of yours with lots of different fabrics. That might run a bit bohemian if you are not careful. Depends on your taste.

I disagree with the majority, and think it's perfectly fine. In the past, i've done it with dining room window treatments, and ordered extra fabric to re-do the chairs seats. I think if you mix a couple of the printed fabrics with solid it would look very nice. Imo, using the same fabric for another purpose in a space other than one, is a high end 'designer look' and not often thought about by most of us diy decorators. I don't see the point of bringing in another patterned fabric, stripe/plaid/check, etc., unless you're going for an English country sort of look,

The picture of your room looks like it's still a little empty--if it stays that empty (I don't mean empty in a bad way; just a clean extremely uncluttered way I'm a little envious of) then the match might be too much. But if other things are going in, like other pillows and the rug you're seeking, yeah, I think it would be nice! It's great fabric, and I love the marmalade upholstery.

I make custom window treatments & soft furnishings. I wouldn't mind seeing the lumbar pillows on your side chairs, but my personal choice would be something else on the couch. Maybe make welting out of the drapery fabric.

pillows (round). I was thinking of just one on each sofa. But after seeing some
of the pictures here, may add some additional ones. The fabric I saw on fabric.com

I found a natural sisal rug (12x15) with a grey border for
the bottom layer rug, now I am looking for a 7x9 rug to go on top. Was trying
to pick colors from the fabric, don’t think I will go with blue (I already have
