It was so heartening to read about the April 13 meeting and how 31 dedicated rose lovers spoke at length about the issues surrounding the City's plan, and what a mistake it was. I feel much more confident now that the correct decisions will be made in regard to the Rose Garden. I think many of us writing letters to the Preservation Committee also had to have had an impact. When a large number of people are impassioned about an issue it is much more likely to gain attention. I hope those petty, uninformed City employees who started this whole debacle are properly chastened and embarrassed.
