It's here! St Pete Green Thumb Festival April 23 & 24

30th Annual free festival w/more than 120 vendors.

Highlights include 1,200 trees for sale for $5, tree care demonstrations, Plant Auction, Plant Diagnostic Clinic, and tool sharpening. The children’s area has been expanded and includes tree climbing for $10, children’s plant fair, crafts and more from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., both days. Flower show on Sunday

Pathfinders is doing the tree climbing activity this year - I think they said it's $5. And an arborist is supposed to be doing demonstrations on the trees behind the gym. Plus a garden wagon parade w/ $$ prizes. BTW, 10 am to 3 pm is the kids' crafts (my gig); the festival hours are 9am to 4 pm. Flower show theme this year is 'Wild West'.

I am planning on making there for the first time this year, Irma. Maybe even the green fest one in Lakeland! I m looking for a fragrant flowering tree that might also provide a little backyard shade on a two story house. I know short order! Either way, I will come home with a car load of other plants

This year was #30. I've been on the committee for about 10 years now. I'm in charge of the kids' arts & crafts activities.

Carol, that is really neat that you have been helping to produce this event. It has a great positive reputation. I hear a sparkle and excitement in the voice when someone mentions "Green Thumb Festival".
