I found out yesterday our cabinet maker mistakenly made our cabinet doors out of poplar instead of maple as per our contract. I believe it was an honest mistake as he has a VERY good reputation. He offered us a small discount ($800) or will remake the doors. We spent $28,000 on cabinets and don't feel the discount is worth the quality concern. Can anyone tell me the the quality and cost difference between poplar and maple?
