I've seen them divided but still open looking with 4 foot bookshelves and columns.

The room is 28' long and less than 11' wide? Unless you would use a banquet table to seat about 20, I think making the whole thing dining would be over the top.

We need pictures of all sides of the room to see where openings are.

If you decide to put some furniture, adding some decorative pillows like these might help brighten up the room and add some comfort

We switched out our large unused formal living room and made that our dining room... formal table and China hitch with Buffett and then took the smaller square dining room off the kitchen and made that a small tv room. We put a flat screen on the wall and got a small leather sectional with a large ottoman. It gave us more elbow room in my now larger dining room and we could actually put the table leaf in and seat 8.
The kids loved the cozy tv room.
Street side you looked in and saw a beautiful table and China cabinet and gave us more privacy in our tv area.

Dmidena, I was going to suggest moving some walls and making it part of other rooms. Apparently you already came up with that idea!

I’m looking for small living room ideas with tv setups, especially when the TV stand needs to fit without blocking the walking path.

I think depth matters more than people realize. A TV stand can look fine from the front, but if it sticks out too far, the whole room can feel tight. A slim TV console seems like a better choice in a small living room.

Closed storage would also help because cables, remotes, game consoles, and small living room items can make the TV area look messy fast. At the same time, the stand should not be so large that it dominates the room.

Coffee table size matters too. If the TV stand, sofa, and coffee table are all bulky, there may not be enough clear walking space.

What is your best trick for arranging a small TV area? Do you use a slim console, wall-mounted storage, floating shelves, or a very minimal setup?
