This succulent is a Haworthia limifolia, which is a lower light succulent (doesn't want direct sun).

I needs a pot w/ a drainage hole w/out question, can be clay or plastic but MUST have drainage hole or this plant risks root rot. Also, pls. remove that mossy stuff on top, it's also conducive to rot.

Nice plant, doesn't look 'down' to me, What do you mean by that?

Thank you so much @Imontestella. It was gift and the plant just came with all the moss. When I got it the plant looked more relaxed and didn't have a few wilting leaves (or what you would call them). I have been worried about it dying. Hopefully with your advice I can take better care of it. :)

Most important is to make sure it doesn't sit in wet soil - that is killer of succulents.

It is lower light succulent, but shouldn't be kept too dark. Windowsill should be OK (what is your general location?)
