Help with Size of Medicine cabinet and lighting over bathroom vanity

Hello, I am renovating my bathroom and have a larger vanity that is being installed than my current pedestal sink.

My current sink is 20" wide. My medicine cabinet is 20" wide and the sconce lighting ABOVE it is 17.

My new vanity is 30" wide. Do I need a larger medicine cabinet? If so how large? 24?"

Also- how large does the new lighting fixture need to be to look proportionate.

Any advice would be great!

Do you want to use the medicine cabinet as the mirror? Or can you put a medicine cabinet on the side wall? If you're planning on using the medicine cabinet as your mirror, then yes, get a larger one. A 24" one should be fine. However, if your current med cab is recessed into the wall, you cannot expect a 24" one to fit in the same hole. Do you have someone who can make a bigger hole for a bigger medicine cabinet? It will mean cutting into the sheetrock and the studs behinds the sheetrock.
