The two who really stand out for me are Faron, because I find him to be like a fish out of water here, such a seeming mismatch, yet his posts are so funny and so much fun precisely because he's such a mismatch!

And rgps, who I've seen has been back lately. Her narrative regarding her cabin was so hilarious.

I totally remember Les917 and had forgotten until this post. I think I remember feeling so validated when she liked a selection I had made.

This is a nice thread and a good jog to the memory.

The one I remember so well was Igloochic. Somewhere I have printed out her directions for painting wood. ( I followed it but I am not a super painter......so after my effort, we ripped out said vanity and replace). I remember they were relocating maybe to Washington state? She had posted about that but I don't remember anything more.

I do miss Bronwynsmom and hope all is well with her. She had good decorating insights and such a warm hearted spirit about her.

I also miss Pal for his ability to get to the nut of the issue and for his vast knowledge of styles...not to mention his quirky ability to select items for his home just after they've been discontinued!

Marcolo definitely helped keep the place lively.

I used to read here years ago, and really miss the Gallery posts Oceanna (?) kept going. I got so many ideas for paint colors. I also loved to see squirrel heaven's photoshop posts for room ideas. And I think it was Igloochic who had very unique homes somewhere cold? Hope I got all the names and situations right.

KevinMP, whose Philly row house I love so much that I still hope everyday that I will see him posting again. His style and use of historical decor and color so match my taste he was an inspiration to me.

Teacats a.k.a Jan at Rosemary Cottage and her beautiful living room painted in her beloved "fresh white," the beautifully framed, tasteful paintings on the wall, her traditional furniture of good wood & lovely fabrics. I miss her gentle, good natured posts. Amidst all her niceness & care not to impose her POV was a rather keen eye for design.

And Bronwynsmom, the ex-interior designer whose posts were of the belles lettres class -- her elegant witty comments were a joy to read. And boy, could she drill down on what was wrong & how to fix it. I loved her white painted paneled LR room so much that I did the same for my FR reno last summer. We had to scout for that old-fashioned Pickwick planking that was ubiquitous (she would know that word!) in the 50s but is tough to find now. Two maxims from Bronwynsmom have stayed with me: People look at a room, decide it needs something, then buy some hoo haw that they think will save the room; Good decorating is a much about editing a room as it is about putting colors, patterns, & things together.

Lkplatow, you're one whose posts i always take note of! You were helpful with my exterior remodel 8 years ago -- I was trying to make my house look more like yours :)

Someone please help jog my memory for the name of a poster whose husband wrote to say she'd passed. I think I "saw" her most often on the cooking forum. She's the reason non-techy me looked into acquiring an induction range - one of the best purchases I've ever made. When her Electrolux range was ruined in hurricane Sandy she immediately replaced it with another. That was testimony enough for me as she was a great cook who generously shared advice & wonderful recipes. Her name is on the tip of my tongue...

I am enjoying seeing the names come up on this thread and shaking my head "Yes" with the memories of such great posts and good advice.

I remember Jan at Rosemary Cottage and her style so well. Also Igloochic who lived in Alaska and had a little boy with severe health issues. The last I heard she had bought a Victorian house in Washington or somewhere because the Alaska weather was too severe for him, and was trying for another baby. I loved Oceanna's files of beautiful rooms with different wall colors. They were really fun to look at and inspiring.

Oh, so many wonderful people have been a part of this group! I miss everyone mentioned, and hope all is well with each of them.

IHGS (iheartgiantschnauzers) who passed away a few years ago from a second bout with cancer. I was always amazed at her passion/dedication for having a vegan/vegetarian household, even when I could not imagine eating some of the recipes she described!

She was a very open contributor here, but the events after her passing were unsettling, with her sister in law having memorial threads deleted and just trying to delete IHGS's whole online existence. Sad.

Wow, thank you all for reminding me of other wonderful posters! I didn't mean for my list to be just people who haven't been posting. I know that my3dogs, sochi, cliffandjoan, chijim and lynninnm are all still active on the forum. I was just thinking of those who I readily recall for something or another. The post about Judithva got me reminiscing.

Kevin sold his beautiful home in Philadelphia, married and was looking for homes in Radnor. I had walked past his home a few times when I was in Center City visiting DD and always hoped his realtor would have an Open House. He didn't reveal many details but I think this may have been his last post.

Igloo chic bought a huge Victorian in Port Townsend that had been a bed and breakfast. I still remember her Mom posting one Christmas that Igloo had decorated 7? or maybe 10? christmas trees.

Was going to mention Kevin and Pal. As Maire said, Kevin got married and moved about 20 minutes from me. I saved some pics of his townhouse for future reference. What a catch for some lucky woman -- a man who likes to decorate beyond the man cave. Miss Pal, too. He was always pointing out amazing homes in the Philadelphia area. I can think of a bunch of others from my Kitchen Forum days, but I am not sure they ever posted here.

IHGS just broke my heart with her sweet, sad posts. You could just tell she was a special person.

sheesh, yes, Ingrid has always been my name. I joined the gardenweb antique roses forum about 8 years ago, but also visited here when I was decorating my present home the first time, then concentrated on the garden until recently when I decided to update a few things, and probably provided entertainment for quite a few people with all my fumbling and stumbling around from one mistake into another.

I miss Liriodendron. She wrote beautifully and lyrically about quotidian things like bed linens. I remember that she lived in a very old house, burned wood for heat, and portions of her cellar were a snake overwintering shelter (not sure of the exact term for it--do snakes hibernate)?

I remember most of those mentioned in the previous posts. Sometimes though, I think about members who posted for months about their renovations, received well thought out advise and encouragement, not to mention hand holding, and then never came back to show a reveal.

There was a poster that lived in AZ and had health issues. (Eileen?) Her posts were very polarizing but I occasionally wonder if she is well.

It's interesting that some people seem to get obsessed with this site, post like crazy, bare their soul and then vanish.

lkplatow, yes, you don't post often, which is why it's a delight when you do. Didn't you discover a major water ingress problem in your house after a renovation several years ago? I was interested in how it all got resolved. Anyway, I just remember thinking your house was absolutely lovely.

I haven't seen Funcolors here either, she was great at suggesting paint colors.

Several people have had name changes, some more than once, either by choice or by houzz. Funcolors and turquoise rose are two who come immediately to mind.
