Let's see your furniture makeover!

I would love to get ideas from your favorite furniture project. Please post!

Here's one from Jeri, my very creative friend. Sorry I don't have a before shot of her $10 yard sale find. This was a baby changing table she antiqued and added marble tiles to the top. She spray painted and then instead of using a tinted glaze to do the antiquing, she mixed a tube of artist's oil paint with a little mineral spirits.

I used the same method to paint this console table from GoodWill. All for around $12.

Before and after....

Here's Jeri's next project. Can't wait to see what she makes of these estate sale chairs. I think she's got her work cut out for her!

Dining room set (before pic from kijiji)

After: recovered vinyl on chairs with striped and flower fabric, stained top walnut, and painted legs and chairs with BM Danville Tan.

I missed this thread first time around. bbtexan, that table turned out wonderfully. Any progress on the chairs?

John, I'm usually not a fan of painting wood, but that set is gorgeous now! I really like that you went with a darker light color than white or cream. Beautiful!

John, I also noticed you changed your light fixture to great effect. I don't know if this is now a different house but the look has gone from somewhat tired and slightly dated to fresh and light. Great job!

bbtexan, this is also the first time I've spotted this post and your console table looks fabulous now.

Those are amazing chairs! I'll bet no one would guess they are painted, right? It's not a color I have in my home, but it looks great in your room and with your art!

This is a Curule-style chair from Craigslist before and after -

Another CL find -this is the seller's pic in his ad.

I didn't take a pic when it was fully done, but here it is almost complete -

A $10 yard sale chair - my first chair re-do.

The seller's family called this antique the 'Throne chair'. CL - $25.00.

Olychic - Thanks! No one knows those chairs are painted and when I tell the they are they still dont understand. They have been many colors. Orange was just the mood I was in at the time. Sometime in the next month or so they will magically turn red because thats what Im feeling now. The art next to the chairs is also a furniture remake. They are the tops of Ikea Lack tables. I just ditched the legs and threw some paint on them to take up space on the wall. I plan on repainting the same table tops, this time portraits of my kid, in the upcoming weeks. Lack tables are cheaper than canvas!

I love all of The pieces posted great work everyone!

My husband and I just retrofitted an old dresser into a vanity. Pardon the unfinished trim in the bathroom, it is still a work in progress.

    Roarah....that is BEAUtiful!!!

ingrid_vc so. CA zone 9...different house. Thank you for the compliments though! :)

Not furniture, but I did redo my light fixture. Bought it at a big box store, but didn't like the shade. It blocked the view of any picture on the wall, and that bugged me. So I took off the shade. Then it looked too plain, so I climbed up on my dining room table, and hot glued rope around the middle! My husband thought I was crazy at first, but he loves the result! I also like the shadows it makes on the ceiling and walls now.
