Who to use to remove a satellite dish from the roof?

I hurt my ankle and need to have somebody remove a satellite dish from my roof and repair the shingles and fill in the holes from the lag screws. I have the exact new shingle and tar paper need.

Who do I contracts? Roofer, handyman, general contractor? It is located just above my second story balcony! It is reachable with a 6ft step ladder.

How much would it cost?

Got done talking with 5 roofers and each one have a minimum charge for repairs of $500 to $900. They suggest doing it yourself or hire a handyman to do it. LOL!

I hope you told them you would also be useing someone else when it come's time for a new roof. Plumbers don't charge that much for service calls and I consider plumber wages a rip off. Just make certain the handyman know's roofing because the holes need to be repaired right.

"...Plumbers don't charge that much for service calls and I consider plumber wages a rip off..."

Shouldn't plumbers make a decent living too? They have bills just like everybody else. Mortgage, taxes, putting their kids through college, etc.

Cris I'm not sure decent and plumber should be used in the same sentence, most of them I've dealt with lick themselves and chase cars. $500 to $900 minium is exobitant unless it's for a plumber in California, but there's little dencent about that either.

It's a rip-off quote, a hundred or two at most should pay for the work to be done by someone capable. It's not brain surgery to uninstall the equipment and plug the holes.

klem, with your attitude, I can imagine tradesmen jack up their quotes so as not to have to deal with you. For me, word of mouth and Yelp ratings leads me to plumbers, electricians and all other types who provide great services at fair prices.

Only plumbers so all work's out well.

So why not just do all your own plumbing?

I do exactly that Cris but hire many to work for other companys. Now my question. How long have you been in plumbing?
