seedlings gotta go

I have pawn cypress in tree rings front yard. The problem I have is trees that came up voluntarily and I want to rid them without killing the cypress trees. The roots on these are quite deep. I try and cut them down to the dirt. Is it possible to use round up just on those that r growing? I want to add that the cypress trees are established and have been in the ground for ten years and r quite tall. I don't want to damage them in any way.

It's a conifer so the seedlings should die if you cut them below the lowest needles. No poison needed.

i dont understand if they are unrelated seedlings ... or suckers off the mamma tree ... ken

Birds drop seeds and these are a pain to take out. I was asking if round up or something else can take these extra nuisance trees or bushes out. I will take a photo later on.

put stump killer or undiluted round up or generic in the very expensive applicator like at the link ... the beauty of it.. if you knock it over ... it basically doesnt run out ... do not store near the hot dogs ...

snip each seedling off at ground.. and put ONE DROP of killer on each cut ...

obviously you can not do this if they are suckers of the big tree ..

also.. increase mulch.. and get out there in mid spring.. and pull babes out.. when extremely young ...

if there is any doubt.. get us leaf pix of big tree and seedlings.. and lets get some IDs ...
