Sigh--I'm just sitting here complaining to dh about how I don't even have time to enjoy my plants/garden because it's seems like I'm only doing the work. I'm way behind this year and then there is always something else going on during the weekend that cuts into my time.......Is it really worth all of the work to have every critter/insect possible eating the regular garden????? And then all the repotting, watering, fertilizing the cactus to see flowers for 1 day??????

Thanks for letting me vent and I'm glad I have a minute to enjoy all of your beautiful plants without having to do any of the work! The only thing on my front porch is a potted Begonia and Azalea :-) Oh and peacock poop.

    Peacock poop? hmmmmm.

I hear you about the garden. I fell behind this spring and then went away for three weeks, and then was just lazy and only came to when people started asking what was the matter with the garden.

Because the lazies, and too many days up at Tahoe, continue, I'm just trying to keep things watered while making big plans for garden renewal this autumn.

But today was cool and clear and so beautiful it made everything look wonderful. Hope you enjoyed it too.

Oh! Thanks for that last pic. I have a plant that just started to pup - and now I know it's an e. Pulodonis!

I think your front porch is great - probably best porch on the street...I still wonder - and am jealous - how do you get your plants to grow so well :) I like dudleya a lot.

Do you know what the tall one on very right in your last photo is?

Thanks Rina, I give the credit to brilliant sun and low humidity. Because of the huge old willow the front gets morning and late afternoon sun which this time of year is perfect. Have enjoyed looking at your pics of your plants outdoors-very nice.

The tall plant is an atypical sedum treleasi.

I would not consider it to be sedum...thought it is same as plant I have, but I am not sure:

It grows tall, similar to yours, regardless that I give it lots of sunlight:

I agree that our N Nevada summers are definitely perfect for most succulents--don't forget about the cooler nights.

Echinopsis grow at a similar altitude so I think that's why mine flower so well--too bad the winters are so cold. My plants suffer because of it--yours still look perfect!
