Recommend Rejuvenation highly -- excellent quality and great service, as well as authentic choices. Even under their new, and relatively recent corporate ownership, there appears to be no change from both the customer and employee perspective. So far, so good. Some Rejuvenation products, including lighting and bath hardware) are comparatively less expensive than others on the market of similar quality; there might be savings elsewhere to offset the doorknobs. And the metal finishes from Rejuvenation are of higher quality than the metal finishing on the lights and door hardware that came with my 20 year old quality home, for which selections were made by the builder among national brands carried by big box stores. I have purchased brushed stainless billiard lights, dark black metal lights for the bathroom vanity, and bright brass for the hall. All look as good as the day they were installed -- or better; the finished brass takes on a warmer glow. All clean well; all work extremely well. Rejuvenation also sells metal samples, very handy for many purposes when comparison shopping under different lighting. And they have a nice selection of original hardware as well. After 20 years, I have replaced all of the lighting; but interior door and cabinet hardware are too expensive to replace, unless replacing the door/cabinet; especially given the $100 and up I would pay a locksmith for exteriors. My builder did take time however, to split sets-- using chrome on the inside of bathrooms, and aged brass on the outside. I have never seen this elsewhere in homes of this age, but it may have been standard when brass hardware was first introduced and chrome was less expensive. I believe that when ordering reproduction door sets from Rejuvenation it is expected that you will order doorknobs for each side of the door separately. All Victorian closets did not have glass doorknobs on the inside. Consider also, that if aging in place is a possibility, or there are small hands that cannot yet open doorknobs, a lever may be a safer, better choice in the short and long term. Or no lock at all, if the children are quite small, or the adults are quite frail. And, just because it's glass, and hands, I would buy a reproduction over an original, and a quality reproduction over a big box better buy. Hardware and lighting may be the jewelry of the home, but these decisions are often made/upgraded last.

Having just gone through finding kitchen knobs, I have a couple of suggestions. I love your two color cabinets. I'd consider a blue or blue pattern on top and a white or white and blue pattern on the bottom. I'd use round, because square knobs are often askew and it would drive me crazy! This is the kitchen, so a simple shape that's easy to clean is something to consider. So the lovely blue pattern round ceramic knob above (from oldbob) would be great without the dirt catching metal cap. If you prefer metal to ceramic, I'd put a knob on top and a simple pull on the bottom. What kind depends more on the style you're trying to achieve.

Kitchen - stainless appliances -- with the black cooktop and glass on the micro and oven. The kitchen is all being redone -- with the stuff I have in the pic... and a stainless sink. the floor will be ceramic tile that looks like wood -- a medium brown tone with highlights only of the dark tone of cabinets -- so there is contrast. The floor tile will not have the "rustic" look - it is more of a glossy wood look finish. My style? Hmm... still trying to define it. I am eclectic! The house is only 12 years old... but we are "updating" things. I guess I would describe what we are going away from as a little be "country". I would like to be more "up-scale" / "classy"... and for sure more TIMELESS. However, we are middle class family with four kids.... so PRACTICAL is where it is at! I am not "trendy" -- I don't care at all for the current white cabinets look! I'd rather something that we love today but will still not be considered "dated" now or in the future. I hate my brass door levers -- those seem so "dated." The kitchen flows to dinette -- I have a pedestal style oak table with ladder back larger chairs. It flows to the family room. New carpet in very dark brown and with hints of black is going in. Our furnature is brown leather couches. THe fire place will be getting a new wood surround/mantle in the same maple and stain as kitchen cabinets. The stairs going up is not too near the kitchen... but on the plans is to open the basement stairwell up, removing the door, and have it open and railing. So, we would have the same black knuckle spindles there. That is right off/in the kitchen. Wall paint in this kitchen/family room area -- SW "Perfect Greige" -- almost gray, almost beige.

@Sandy Class There is no right or wrong answer really to whether you should use door knobs or door levers, however coordination of all door hardware should be considered. Sometimes the use of a door levers may be considered as more practical - especially with elderly or children as residents where their grip isn't tight enough to operate all kinds of door knobs. Function is an important aspect but in many homes aesthetics would play a vital part in the decision making process. In your case, personal preference would pay a large part but a mix of door levers and door knobs would not look wrong providing the style was correct to the interior and the finish was coordinating throughout!
