Exposing concrete block walls

Shawn Powell

We live in a townhouse in the burbs. We're enamored with the exposed brick look of townhomes in the city and lofts. We were considering adding a brick tile wall to one of our walls in the house, but it occurred to us that our townhouse is cinder block construction and maybe it's possible to just remove the stud wall and drywall and expose that cinder block and then either seal it, paint it, or whatever and then just surface mount the electrical to give it a very industrial loft. IS this allowable? Has anyone seen this done?
