Super white marble?

Ugh! So we are redoing our kitchen, and I never even consider marble bc I heard it etched, stained, scratched, etc. But then I walked in to the granite yard to look around, and first thing I saw was this amazing gorgeous slab of super white marble. Absolutely 100% the look I want for my island (perimeter will be leathered steel gray, white cabinets) and I can't stop thinking about it! I have a ton of perimeter space (u shaped kitchen with peninsula + island), so I don't HAVE to use my island for food prep. But, we use every inch of our house. I am not one to NOT use furniture, rooms, etc. bc that makes no sense to me. I am not a perfectionist---I love distressed, antiques, etc. but can I do etching? Will it look like crap? Do real people have marble countertops? Advice please!

If you love the look of super white but are worried about the maintenance of marble, try looking into a Calacatta Quartz, or a Calacatta Neolith. Both are great durable options, also beautiful . Super white marble is a little harder than most marbles , but it can have a tendency to scratch and stain. If you do go with Super White rest assured that it will look great.
