best to create a foundation first for weed prevention, drainage and longevity for the wood. Usually you would want to grade the site, lay a drain rock and then build up the beds.

Ugh! We just laid our bed out, but we placed it directly onto the grass. Our first bed is 8 x 6 x 15" deep. Hopefully nothing will come through that!

Do you have to worry about staining the wood and having the chemicals get into the foods growing in the bed?
