Decorating living room

Please help everything staying except mirror. What do I do on the other side of sofa and what do I put on wall over sofa ? What do I do with console table and mirror.

I would also advise you to change out the shade on your lamp so that the light from the lamp is WHITE and not yellow. It throws off the room.

I would paint that blue coffee table a neutral color. I would not put candles (open flames) next to a plant ... I would put some beautiful, interesting decorative items on the coffee table. You need to match the end table on the other end of the couch and put the same lamp on it. I would get one large piece of art to hang over the couch. I think console tables need to go behind couches/love seats ... not stand freely on a wall ... so I would put the console table behind the love seat as you enter the room. I would put some type of furniture cabinet piece where the console is now with some art above it.

The walls are the black lines. So no nothing is on the wall except option 1 where the love seat is and option 2 where I put a credenza. Each of the squares on the grid in the images is 1 foot x 1 foot. I can figure in your other pieces when I get home this evening and look for a rug then. And I'm just a people, I do industrial and commercial work - designing and looking at residential things is just a passion for me. I found 2 rugs that may work. When looking I eliminated anything ultra modern or to traditional. Something that wouldn't break the bank - I set a $ 250.00 criteria. i would remove the curtains altogether. The blinds will look fine alone. If you want curtains, get ones with a large print. Hang them from the middle of the header so the rod does not cross the window. I think that should be floor length. Move you sofa from the wall closer to the fireplace, so that there is enough room to walk behind it from the door. Buy two upholstered chairs to flank either side of the fireplace to form a conversation group. I would also lower the map to eye level.

The shade is white. The light reflecting paint. Yes I painted it. It's not blue it's like a charcoal gray.

Your lamps have a great shape, agree with changing out shades for better color of light. Tall decorative items on the coffee table should go over on the console where they can reflect in the mirror, then put some shorter interesting items/books on the coffee table. Definitely artwork over couch.

If you're willing to paint, a more vibrant color would help the room come alive, especially since it seems a little dark even with the full windows.

The lamp shade may appear white fabric, but there is a either a yellow cast from the fabric or the backing material.

Table is charcoal gray, huh? Maybe by applying a Liming Wax the appearance would be a bit more interesting. Here is a more traditional piece of wall art.

Will the mirror over sofa work over console instead? I like it better...more interesting. Definitely art over sofa. What do s across from sofa? Sorry, I maybe a bit late to the game.

I don't think you need to match the end table and lamp for the other side of the couch. It will add a lot of interest and will break up the traditional style a bit. BEAUTIFUL ROOM!!

I think you should spray paint the mirror over the console like you said. I would do a silverish gold. And I would 100% leave it where it is. I'm suggesting painting because that area has two dark pieces (the console and the mirror). It would be nice to break that up. And I would definitely get art for above the couch, not a mirror. I love the last one Beverly posted:)

I would get a single side table (not nesting tables) that is about the same height as the other one and a lamp that is about the same size too. But the two lamps and two tables should be noticeably different (so it doesn't look like you're TRYING to match them). The mix and match will look so cool! This is just my opinion of course:)

The general "rule" for mixing and matching end tables is to get the same height table for both sides

If you have trouble parting w the console for any reason, the chairs might be able to go underneath it right next to each other. If they are bright, it will def lighten things up

Oh for some reason I read chairs and assumed you meant like these:
obviously if you get regular chairs, don't put them under the console lol. Just had to clarify sorry

Laugh out loud Jordan I knew right away you meant those. No I want side living room chairs on that side. One piece at a time in that room. My focus right now is the art and mirror redo.
