What other colors are in the room? Do you have a picture?

Do you have other colors (art, rug, drapes) to work with? That's one starting point. Another would be the feel you want or the room. You can use warm tones (creams through a burgudy) if you want a monochromatic look, creams into the blues and greens woulf be the opposite (cooler) compliment. Yellows and oranges would be high energy. All of them can complimenet or clash -- you have to look at the shade and undertones.

Any color- brown and mahogany is pretty much neutral.

I agree that what you've described is neutral, so you can take it whichever direction suits your taste :)

I used to think brown was brown until I was picking tile for a shower. We picked a tile with an old copper green coloration. In looking at the wood colored tiles there was one that looked green until you put this other tile against it. Suddenly it looked brown. So my comment is to say you can't ask for help on colors unless you have a very picture to show with very accurate colors.

I have sage green, dark green/brown, brick red, light gold, dark brown, orange. My couch is not real leather... Been there done that twice and prefer this faux leather type microfiber material. The brown cat has a red undertone. Walls are a burnt spiced pumpkin color. Floor is a antelope print carpet. A picture of your room would really help but just about any color would look good on brown leather

I do not agree that brown is neutral. On a color wheel, it is shown as a very low intensity orange; therefore blue is the complementary color for brown. If you think of what colors will go with orange, you will have a good idea of what goes with brown, but since it is such a low intensity color, it is close to being neutral. Personally, I would use ivory and light beige and use highly lustrous fabrics such as silk or linen. Any warm color (such as gold) will look good with brown, if you want to use a related color scheme. Blue and green will make a nice contrasts.

Go for color/texture/pattern that enhances the style of your room. If modern, maybe cream or tan with a woven or nubby texture. Is there any art, rugs, drapes in the room that you can pull a color from? I have brown leather with dark wood sofas and chairs in the living room. I wanted sort of a world/mid-eastern vibe (not too heavy-handed), so my pillows are a variety of fabrics/patterns that resemble oriental rugs. Actually, one of them is a kilim rug remnant. There are a variety of browns, tans, greens, greys, blues, red, yellow, white and orange. Maybe pick one patterned pillow and some plain ones that compliment it.

I personally feel Ivory and creams can be beautiful on brown leather furniture and see it quite often. It really depends on the look you're going for. I especially love it when mixed with different colors, textures and patterns.

Heres a link that may help give you some ideas. It helped me a lot when I was in your same position.
