I got this as Hoya pub Purple hybrid.

Beautiful! Can I ask where you got your "purple hybrid"?

Oh, okay....I asked because I have a pubicalyx "purple hybrid" that I got from Bob Smoley....there were no photos of the blooms or explanation as to what the plant actually was, it was just described as having "dark purple flowers", so I wondered if you had the same thing...the leaves on mine look kind of RHP-ish....If and when mine blooms, I'll post...thanks...

Another lady got one from Liddle Nursery back in 2008, I wonder if that's where originated from.

Yes, I will post more pics when they fully reflex (if they don't blast). We have a power outage right now, so I need to save phone battery. I hoppe they don't blast in thiis outage.

So lovely, I love motoskei and kalimantan. Hopefully we get to see photos from Auorawa. My silly praetorii lost another bud, but the rest look great and are coloring up well. They seem to really drag it out when in bud!

No dice! They blasted. Dunno if it was due to power outage or just that they were the first blooms.

I think the more mature the plant,the more it will hold its buds...mine is just over3 years old and produces a new peduncle with each new set of leaves

I was sooo close! Usually, by the time they open, the danger of blast is over.

The griffithii is totally awesome---how is it to grow? Does it seem to need a lot of humidity? How quick is it to flower? Thanks....

amaranthineglow I have mine growing in fast draining mix but I am in Florida. Hot and humid, I do water often.

Jimmy, my griffthii is slow growing, tips will be great!

H. griffithii can flower in reg house conditions with humidity at 45%and up!My plant is just over a year and a half from a cutting I recieved from Doug.It likes cooler temps to flower,and likes to dry out between waterings.I'll add more when I get off work tonight.Here is a pic with my humidity guage..for reference .It resets every 24 hours.

Just saw the post about grow lights.I use led lights. Just bought this one and it kicks!New 10 watt led's. It cost 70$ and weight a few lbs so it will hang from dry wall with a plant hook.The light is so intense it can be hung 3 feet above the plants with plenty of penetration all the way to the bottom of the canopy.Love it!

The leaves of above are a bit different that normal, arrow shaped & veined, not mottled like the other. But check out the blooms

Sorry for the glare, that purple fuzz are hairs, like filaments. So strange.
