We have a basement and a bar area with a full-size fridge/freezer. In your case, I'd put it in the space that's closest to your kitchen, just for convenience.

We have a full size all fridge and full size upright freezer in the garage, which is right off the kitchen.

Does the same size freezer drawer work in either space? If so, I would put it in the butler's pantry. That way, it could double as ice for making drinks in that area and be more accessible for putting away food. We are putting a secondary all fridge in our pantry and an upright freezer only in garage. We have the 24" Thermador freezer in our main kitchen space and 30" fridge.

In the kitchen we have a side-by-side. We also have a 26"-wide pantry. So in the basement we have a second pantry bookcase and a an upright deep-freeze. The PO had a freezer in the mudroom next to the kitchen, judging from the placement of an outlet.

Seems that it's just more logical to have a freezer drawer in the butler's pantry than in the laundry, since it's closer. But it sounds like you are planning this for resale, so you might leave some empty space and an outlet in the laundry for a potential small second fridge or freezer.

We don't but a friend keeps a second refrigerator/freezer combo in the basement.

I have a small chest freezer (hoping to replace with an upright eventually) that I keep in my laundry room, in my basement.

I had a freezer in my laundry room right off the kitchen and it was great. When we remodeled it had to move one door down to the garage and it just doesn't feel as convenient. Laundry room works better though! :)

We put the old double door fridge freezer in the back sunroom it holds drinks only and over flow freezer items. It still works perfectly, we do not have the ice maker hooked up because there is not a water supply there. I have considered getting a small upright stainless steel freezer to go in the kitchen, we have a nook one could go in but we have not had any luck finding one we like and that will fit.

Upright freezer only in walk-in pantry. It's not an expensive model, either. It's strictly utility. We do a lot of smoothies with frozen fruits and vegetables. There is no way I could get away with just a bottom freezer in the main unit.
