Only if you need to burn money. There is nothing cheaper than a standard consumer grade free standing 36" fridge. You're talking built in size and pricing. Triple to quadruple the cost. For a basement.

Totally agree. Don't want to spend too much money. That's why I was thinking of gong the 2 24 inch route getting a summitt or LG. Wasn't sure how it would look though. And this space is sort of an accidental one (ignore the toilet

I'm going to say no, you won't be able to fit the 2 24" fridges in that space--because you need clearance by the walls to open the doors. I suppose you could set them up so that the doors hinge in the middle of the space, but you should look really carefully at the technical installation instructions for the space requirements, which will likely be more than the stated width of the fridge.

This is 24” fridges side by side a very expensive way to go I would not bother in the basement to be honest I loved these fridges but definately expensive and BTW these were installed to fit an exact measurement and the fridges were counter depth and no problem with the doors

Just keep in mind that counter depth fridges will fit differently because the hinges are different--thus the need to review technical requirements closely. The previous owners of our house jammed in a 36" regular fridge into a 36" space. It would not be such a problem if it were counter depth, but the French door still would not be able to open fully because even with 4" of trimmed-in clearance, the door of the freezer would hit the wall (fridge is in the corner of the room). Perhaps you could change the orientation of the fridges?

Consider the energy usage of one v.s. two refrigerators. Even if you can afford it . . .

Patricia what kind of refrigerator is that? I like the look.
Also I'd be pulling out the refrigerator so it's flush with at least one of the walls so I'm facing the front of it. There's quite a bit of depth behind the refrigerator at least 25 inches that we're losing.
