Crocodile?

thanks to all. Contacted several of the local furniture stores and their designers. None recognized. Felt is was a customized older piece. Oh well -

mizsusan, you said it's from a magazine -- anything written on or around the picture to give any clues? Is it an ad from a particular store, or a editorial piece mentioning the interior designer or stylist?

I'm not familiar with Hickory White and have no idea of their prices, but when I did a Google image search for buffet shagreen panels, this came up

I think you do a variety of Google image searches using the terms buffet or sideboard or console, plus panels, plus shagreen or snakeskin or crocodile

Definitely not crocodile & most likely not snakeskin either, since both would have clear scale patterns & this doesn't. I think the shagreen is spot on, but it may be calfskin or some other material made to look like shagreen.

I thought the texture of shagreen was on a smaller scale than this. But, like carolb, I suspect it is cow leather embossed to get the effect.

While this isn't crocodile, mizsusan may be able to find a similar case piece that she likes by using crocodile or the other search terms. Unless it's the very specific texture of the panels in that piece that appeals. In terms of search terms, I'd also suggest "credenza" (technically, I think credenzas don't have legs, but I think most people use the term interchangeably with sideboard and buffet).

I searched credenza, console, media console, tv console, sideboard, buffet, crocodile, alligator, reptile, snakeskin, shagreen. I think that I am at the point where I have to agree it is a custom refurbished piece. However, Hickory White (suggestions above) has close second! thanks to all.
