Are You Baking or Cooking Something For The Weekend?

We have a Sunday meal tomorrow after church and I plan on making and taking, a black raspberry pie, a sweet potato casserole and a Hummingbird Poke cake. Right now I am fixing my breakfast, bacon, fried potatoes and maybe an egg. What is cooking or baking in your kitchen this weekend?

We're having friends over for dinner and I've got the chicken marinating. I'm also going to make an apple cobbler this morning as well.

Our Humane Society is hosting a roast turkey dinner this evening. Mmmm, I could just order the gravy and drink it with a straw.......it is always so very good.

DH is making the orange cranberry nut bread from Cook's Illustrated. It's a new experience for him, so it's kinda fun!

Trying a new Jalapeno Cheddar bread mix (machine) to go with some Wendy's Copykat Chili I pulled out of the freezer.

Have some overly ripe bananas, so banana bread is on the agenda. And some sort of soup - I almost always make a batch of soup on the weekend. Had a delicious kale, caramelized onion and bacon soup last week at a restaurant lunch with my sibs and I think I will try my hand at duplicating it. Either that or potato leek, which I have a current taste for.

I'm making two apple cakes--one for a Game Night tonight with friends, and another as an extra thank-you for the contractor friend who did a badly-needed job for me this week.

I've just been scouring the internet for a beanless chili recipe. Finally found one I'm going to try for tomorrow.

I would be baking birthday dinner for son's 51st, but it's hunting season at the lodge he shares with high school buddies.

Just finished baking the last sheet of oatmeal walnut chocolate chip cookies. The sweet potatoes are now in the oven. For dinner, I'm making a copycat recipe for the sweet potato dish we had at Red Lobster a couple of weeks ago to go with the copycat recipe for Alice Spring's Chicken from Outback.

No exciting baking or cooking for me this weekend - just sewing. I made a car seat poncho for my grandson.

I have a white chicken lasagna in the oven. There are only two of us so I should not need to cook dinner again until Wednesday. Woohoo!

I had some bananas going brown. Making a Crazy Banana Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. You bake it for 70 minutes or longer if needed at 275 minutes and then you stick it straight in the freezer for 45 minutes. In the freezer now. Will see how it tastes.

I made a 6 qt crock pot of Coconut Curry Winter Squash Soup for a horse event at the Hunt Club this weekend, but then since I was taking pictures of the riders as they finished, I didn't even get a change to try it. Everyone there said it was great.
