Energy efficient windows and Cellular shades/solar shades

Just purchased Milgard energy efficient windows gas filled. We have block out cellular shades in the living room and was wondering if there would be any seal problems down the road with either the cellular shades or solar shades? We did this on the south side of our house (windows & cell shades) which has no shade and gets very hot. This is also the side our deck is on and we replaced the slider also with the same brand and energy efficiency window. We are going to be putting in an arbor over the slider which will give some shade. But we were also thinking of putting in solar shades for the slider. Too much?

Should be fine as long as there is some air circulation to allow for some convection of air.

Yes, I always leave the shades up an inch or two for that since I don't like the feeling heat build up. These windows are great though. We still have some old windows in and the new windows don't sweat.

We build cellular shades here in Vermont with Hunter Douglas cellular fabric made by Comfortex. We have a good client base in Australia, as well as other very hot places in the US, so I asked a Comfortex rep about any heat limits. The fabric we build our shades with has no limitation that would preclude usage in extremely hot locations. If you invest in a quality shade it'll last you. Ours last 20 years! Hope that helps!
