TV too high????

Is my TV hung too high?
I took the picture sitting on my couch. My boyfriend thinks the tv is fine. I think it would look better on the actual tv stand.
In my opinion it should be lowered based on how close it is to the couch. I feel like I'm "looking" up at it.
I also think a larger tv would look better.

(The tv looks hung crooked/off center but it is actually hung with a tv mount that swivels and can be moved left or right)

Lower it a few inches. if you can't make a hole in the drywall to drop the cords into, then try and wrap the cords together and camouflage them somehow (if the tv is lower, it will be easier to do) Maybe placing one of those soundbars on the console, just below the tv, would help hide them. she has one here:

I agree with you. It would look better closer to its console and if you are looking up at it then it's too high.

Yes you will break your neck :) put just a few inches above the console. You can put some frames around the tv to decorate, you don't need a bigger tv

I agree that I would have left it on the stand on the sideboard.

Yes, it looks like it's "floating" above your console. Either lower it several inches or place on the console.

I don't have the stand but I was gong to buy one. I think I'll just lower it on the wall & buy a sound bar. I wanted one anyway.
I like that it can be moved and angled depending on where you are sitting so that's why I'll try keeping it on the wall. Thanks everyone!

I am thinking about this with 65 inch tv think I personally like eye level with it on media unit top,no wires sound bar together.

Are you leaving the cords showing? If so, set it in the cabinet.

If that is the cabinet you're using, it is a great size for the TV shown. The cabinet should be larger than the TV.

Yes, it's too high. You can get surface-mount raceways to corral the wires at any home center or electrical supply company (Panduit is one brand).

We plan on hiding the cords...still getting settled. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it should be lowered because we've been arguing over it lol.

Generally, TVs should be mounted at 60" center. I would guess that yours is a little too high not only from a design perspective, but from a functionality point of view.
