Daisy I love your red, pink, white and striped color theme in your photos! It is wonderful to see which roses like the heat. Florentina is a special one since I read from others (in other threads) that it's also cold hardy. I'm especially happy that it likes the heat though since it gets so hot in my yard! I have a couple that will be climbing across a fence near Sombreuil.

Beth, you mean the last one? It's delbard grimaldi, my mobile didn't capture real color of that one.

Today is even hotter than yesterday, with the hot and dry crazy wind, few of Florentina's branches broke bc it grows too fast in the hot days. But don't worried, the rose may have more lateral branches. It happened before.

Cori, sorry, I don't remember the name those perennial. The white one is not a good filler, better than nothing only. The purple little flower is below, it has very strong garlic smell if you break it.

From the photo of the leaves, and the odor, I suspect the purple flower is tulbaghia violacea, or society garlic. I can't see the white flower well enough to make a guess.

Thanks again for helping us get through winter Daisy. I think the pictures of Molineax and Nahema and the bouquet pictures are the icing on the cake. So professional.

Here was raining in the morning, luckily rain stopped, sun came out, and temperature went up to 70 f. Roses are blooming happily.

oops, I haven't been posting this week, so I missed this!

I smiled when I saw your pic, Nanadoll, cos it kind of looks like the nature strip in front of the house here..(I think you call it the "hell strip") before it gets mowed- ie mostly dead..too expensive to keep watering it in summer!

Ohh I've got Grimaldi too, Daisy! usually a good flowerer in spite of the heat, but mines been off its game badly this summer- badly needs repotting... Your arrangements are lovely!

I got very disappointed- my favourite Mary Magdalene was just about to go into a full flush- the sepals dropped- then it got baked, then we had all that rain, then it got baked again- result; bush covered in little crunchy paper brown buds that will never open, sigh

Anyways, it seems to be cooling down now, so the roses are coming back to life; I have a few pics, but nothings up loaded yet.
