My kitchen floor has been torn out due to water damage. I had wood before, and it's also in the adjoining rooms, but frankly I'm thinking about doing something else. I've had to be careful not to have the chairs, etc. scratch it, but despite my efforts, it did get scratched. I resorted to putting "booties" on all the legs, which works but looks goofy. I love the look of tile, but I don't like the way it feels on the feet, and I can't afford to heat it. I'd love to hear your experience with some of the vinyl and laminate (not wood look) products out there. I'm seeing some very negative reviews -- for instance, Congoleum and the like.
