need help with living room dining room wall art and window treatment

i would like to change my living room/dining room , the rug which i really like is not a traffic rug and since my living room is small the rug always gets dirty. i think the couch is too stiff for the room, and the dining room table could use another color. i need help with wall art work...

Any suggestions would be so appreciated. I have had 3 designers to the house and they all want to be traditional where i would like to be modern/traditional.

I'd love to help you. Let me make sure I understand some basics first.

It looks like the living room and dining room are open concept and you have sliding glass doors that basically face each other correct?

The rug you love is currently in the living room part of this great room correct?

Is the sofa a standard size in the 84-88" range which you can completely walk around?

When you say the dining room table could use another color do you mean a completely new table in a different wood tone or other finish? And are you keeping the dining chairs? They look like a microfiber in a neutral/mocha color.

Based on your design tastes you like clean modern lines with traditional undertones in the supporting design features correct?

Maybe this will provide some inspiration.

The DR needs a much larger chandelier, and I might place art over the sideboard instead of the mirror, but maybe the room is a bit dark, so the mirror might be required.

Lose the rug in the LR. Find a great inspiration rug for the dining room and pull accessory and wall colors out of it.

All I see is beige on beige.

I agree on the rug. I also think it would elevate the room to bring in some original art if budget allows. I usually suggest original art for living and dining rooms and giclees and prints for other less public rooms.
